A coordinated domestic violence outreach, education, referral, and service initiative serving Latinos in Chelsea.

The mission of the Chelsea CARE Community Network Project is to enhance sexual assault and domestic violence intervention and to increase access to services for Latino members of the Chelsea community with a primary goal of reducing domestic violence and sexual assault within the community of Chelsea.

Objectives:

  • Increase awareness of accessible and available programs and decrease barriers to access programs by Latinos within Chelsea.
  • Increase awareness and change community norms in responding to domestic violence and sexual assault within the Latino communities of Chelsea with a goal of creating a unified response to violence.
  • Implement structures that develop and expand culturally appropriate networks to provide education and interventions that address domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Increase understanding of new ways to provide domestic violence, child witness to violence, and sexual assault direct services and create ways to implement culturally appropriate outreach, education and intervention activities.
