Harbor Communities Overcoming Violence (HarborCOV) provides emergency and support services for survivors of abuse and their children in the Chelsea, East Boston, Revere and Winthrop communities. HarborCOV takes an innovative approach to ending domestic violence through collaborative community organizing and providing culturally appropriate services for ethnically and linguistically diverse survivors.

Children & Teen Program Coordinator

Oversee & develop advocacy and age-appropriate activities for youth affected by domestic violence/ sexual assault. Supervise Children & Youth Team advocates and support staff, facilitate access to community/clinical support services. Must have work experience/education with youth affected by domestic violence/sexual assault. Supervisory experience required Bachelor’s required. Master’s and licensing preferred.


Economic Development Coordinator

Lead, develop and coordinate program by identifying and addressing systemic problems that create barriers for low-income survivors moving toward economic stability. Passion for economic justice combined with education and/or work experience w/economic, community or workforce development with low-income/multicultural people required. Program management, supervisory, and group presentation/facilitation experience required, Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills necessary. Bilingual ability, grant research/writing experience a plus.

Advocate (Bilingual Spanish)

Support and connect survivors to resources. Strong knowledge of area housing, benefits and family resources required. Strong writing and verbal communication, assessment, follow-up, referral and advocacy management skills necessary. Support hotline, groups, community presentations and outreach materials. Bilingual written and speaking ability essential. Experience with crisis intervention/advocacy with survivors required.

Emergency Housing Advocate

Advocate with short-term emergency housing residents, supporting and connecting them to resources. Provide accessible and responsive hotline support for emergency and community-based callers, accurate record keeping, individual and group support for residents, and community-building activities. Experience with emergency services and assessment essential. Knowledge of housing, benefits, services and resources required. Bilingual Spanish a plus.


All candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to domestic violence and/or sexual assault survivors. Strong ties to and knowledge of resources in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop and East Boston are helpful. The ability to work in multicultural, team setting and low-income communities is essential.
